How to create and set up Bitfinex API key

Here, we show you how to generate and connect Bitfinex API key to the Doblox trading platform.

Doblox is a trading platform that allows you to trade and analyze in numerous cryptocurrency exchanges, monitor media and social media and use many other features in an all in one interface.

To do so, you should use an exchange API key. This is a safe and reliable way to use a trading platform because it does not give access to your confidential data as Doblox also does not access any funds management (withdrawals & deposits).

1. API Key (Access Key): This key authenticates users and specifies which account is connecting to the third-party service.

2. Secret Key: This key establishes an additional security layer by demanding a confidential token for request authentication.

3. IP Whitelist: In late 2022, as a result of heightened security measures, exchanges started expiring API keys periodically. Consequently, platforms like Doblox now offer the ability to specify IP whitelist addresses, aiming to enhance security without burdening users with the need to frequently change API keys.

Note: You can connect several exchange accounts to your Doblox account to speed your trading and make it more sophisticated and smoother with less stress and exhaustion.

1. Login into your Bitfinex account.

2. Click on profile (the dummy icon on the upper right-hand corner of the screen). When the drop-down menu is open, go to the “API keys” and as another pane is open, click on the “Create New Key”

1. On the new page you should set the permissions like the image below (pay attention that all the “withdraw” and “transfer” permissions should be off). On the bottom of the page, give a name to the API (We suggest to name it Doblox). Then click on “Generate API Key”.

1. A pane appears where you should do the 2 factor authentication. Fill the blank with the given token and click on “Authenticate”.

1. Another message pane appears which says you should confirm the API key in your email.

1. Now go to your email. Find the email Bitfinex has sent you, open it and click on “Create API key” in the email.

1. Now another tab on your browser is open where you can see generated “API” and “Secret” keys. Copy and record the keys in a secure location to use them in further steps below (We insist on recording them somewhere else because the “Secret Key” might be shown just once and goes away as you close the pane or go to another page).

1. Now go back to your account in Doblox and follow the instructions below.

2. When you enter your Doblox account, click on the profile (dummy icon) on the upper right-hand corner of the panel and choose the “Exchange Management” option.

1. A pane is open, choose the “Exchanges/Wallets” tab.

2. In this tab, click on the “+ Exchange” button on the right of the page.

   
3. Another pane is open which you should fill the fields with the information (Keys) you received from Bitfinex (You can fill the “Nickname” field with whatever name you like. Here we suggest filling it with “ My Bitfinex”).

   
4. Choose Bitget from the first drop-down field (Exchange).

1. Fill the “API key” and “Secret key” Fields with the given keys that you took from Bitget.

Important: You can use the code in the “API Whitelist” field for future steps.

1. Now click on the “Add Exchange” button.

1. Now your Bitfinex account is connected to Doblox and you can enjoy trading. Please check if the API is synced by going to [profile > “Exchange Management'' > “Exchanges | Wallets” tab].
